Starting Your Resume from Scratch

It’s easy! Just highlight text and start typing (removing old text). If there are bullet points, remove them from the old and new templates before copying over. Hot Tip: Copy in smaller sections to make everything fit properly.

Microsoft Word (Copy Over from Old Resume)

  • Copy from text from your old resume.

  • Select section on new template > Right-click > Paste Special  > Unformatted.
  • Bullet area: Remove bullets first and adjust the indents from the layout section after copy/paste.
  • You can also change your fonts afterward from the home menu.

    Apple Pages (Copy Over from Old Resume)

    • Copy old resume text (copy in small sections)
    • Highlight old resume text > right-click > select copy
    • Go to your new template > highlight section
    • Go to main menu > Edit > Paste and Match Style
